Life Brand Purifying Peel-Off Face Mask Review

Life brand products are sold by Shoppers Drug Mart, and they have a wide selection of items across all categories. As for beauty items, it’s always being debated whether brand named products are better than the “no-name” brands. I enjoy testing out a variety of products, so today I tried the Life brand Purifying Peel-Off Face Mask!

The packaging of this product is the same as most single-use masks. My only issue with this type of packaging is that I struggle to tear the top off, and usually end up using scissors.

I was surprised at how thick the consistency of this mask was, from what I’ve read online, peel-off masks are typically thin. Since I was trying to use all of the product in the package, I ended up having a fairly thick layer of mask on my face. This resulted in the mask taking much longer to dry than the package suggested leaving it on for.

As I applied the mask, I could feel a mild burning sensation. Having sensitive skin, this isn’t uncommon for me, but obviously it is something I try to avoid. Since the mask was clear, I could see my face starting to turn red, which again, is not uncommon.

The burning feeling lasted throughout the time I left the mask on. The instructions said to leave on for 10-15 minutes, but I waited about 25 before attempting to peel it off. At that point, only about half of the mask was fully dry, so the rest became a goopy mess.

While peeling the mask off, I noticed it wasn’t pulling anything off of my face. I definitely have blackheads, so for the mask to be coming off clean was disappointing.

As for price, I received this product as a gift from a friend, but from searching on the web it seems that the price is about $5 for 3 mask packets. This is a great price, but I don’t think I would repurchase this specific mask. I have also tried a Life brand sheet mask and I had a much better experience with it.

If you are going to use this product: I recommend keeping the layer of product on your face thin, this will allow it to properly dry and make removal easier.

Do you use face masks? What is your current fave?

  1. Aww, sucks it didn’t work well. I have super sensitive skin too. I like face masks and use them when I want to take a relaxing bath with bubbles and candles but I don’t have a favorite. I either use an avacodo mask (not sure about the brand) or a blackhead mask which I don’t think works very well but does something. Normally, I prefer the avacodo mask just because it’s pretty, haha. Super great post! I love reviews like this 🙂
