Benefit Dandelion Wishes Makeup Set

Since the holiday season is approaching, the time to purchase gift sets has arrived! I received the Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Wishes set for my birthday back in July, but only tried it out recently. The set costs $46 CAD ($36 USD, £31.00) and contains a blush, mascara, lip balm, lip gloss and highlighter.

The packaging includes a mirror, and helpful tips for each of the products.

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara

(Canada, US, UK)

This mascara immediately gave length and volume to my lashes without clumping. The curved wand makes it easy to cover all lashes in product. Since it’s a mini sized mascara, it is a bit awkward to hold the small wand while applying product.

Benefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in Poppy Pink

(Canada, US, UK)

This is a very creamy and smooth product, with a lovely subtle pink tint. Personally, I don’t usually wear tinted lip balms, because the colour tends to settle in cracks when I have dry lips.

Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss

(Not available to purchase separately)

In addition to the lip balm, the set also includes a gloss. The shade is a mix of pink and orange, and gives the lips a nice shine.

Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter

(Canada, US, UK)

The ‘how to use’ information says to blend in using your fingertips, but I found that it didn’t spread easily using that technique. I would suggest using a blending sponge for best results.

Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Blush

(Canada, US, UK)

This blush is a light, subtle pink, which is perfect for my light skin tone. The brush provided is quite soft, and helps sweep the product on evenly.

Here’s how all of the products looked together, minus the lip gloss. I loved the way that the highlighter looked, but I feel like I went too light on the blush.

I would definitely recommend this makeup set as a gift for a beauty-loving friend.
